After the success of 2016, our beachcomber 'MoanaMan' has made another beautiful find ;-)
The best all-round beach racer is now available!
Completely renewed geometry: An even faster beach bike.
There are a few things that immediately stand out about our latest beach bike model: The top tube has become longer and the angle of the headset has also been adjusted to 69.5 degrees. This clearly shows that the front fork is slightly more 'down'. But the lower rear fork is also noticeable. This provides an aerodynamic advantage, but also provides a bit more comfort without losing efficiency.
The advantages? The steering behaviour has been improved considerably. The longer top tube ensures that shorter stems can be mounted. This, in combination with the new angle of the head tube of the frame, ensures more stable steering behaviour in soft sand. The “offset” and the design of the front fork also contribute to this of course; more stable, but without sacrificing manoeuvrability. A slightly longer wheelbase than the previous model, while the manoeuvrability has remained the same due to the short rear fork
The front fork, designed for the beach
A beach frame naturally requires a fixed front fork. But this should not be too deep/low because the weight on the bike should be well distributed on bad (soft) flat parts and on soft and steep beach ascents and descents. After all, that is where the difference is often made.
That's why we thought it was important to make the front fork 484mm "long". This is shorter than a suspension fork, but high enough to ensure that your weight stays more "backwards" and you don't get too much pressure on the front wheel.
But a beach bike is not only used on the beach, also gravel, forest, dune and also mountain bike paths this bike sees quite often. With the newly developed Moana front fork this is also no problem.
The brake line is also partially routed through the front fork itself, which not only provides aerodynamics, but also creates more space for the tire.
Aerodynamics & Comfort
With the high speeds achieved during beach races, aerodynamics are important. The new Storm Moana frame has a down tube that is almost the same width as the combination beach tire/4Shore wheel. The rear brake line and derailleur cable go inside the frame and the front brake line largely through the front fork. Together with the lowered rear fork and the sunken thru axles, this ensures as much aerodynamic advantage as possible.
Because the Moana is stiffer in places where needed (around the bottom bracket and headset) and has a little more flex around the seatpost clamp, for example, it has become a frame with a lot of efficiency and yet some comfort.
Custom. Every Storm Moana is unique!
Of course, this Storm is also built completely to your wishes from the carbon frame and the Moana is available from stock in 3 standard colours. In addition, the new Storm Moana is now also available in 4 instead of 3 different sizes. A fast beach bike for everyone! A custom colour like below? That is also possible.
But wait… There's more:
•The new Moana frame now features a 'boost' installation width. 110mm front, 148mm rear. In addition to the fact that stiffer wheel sets can be mounted, there is also more room for the tire and it is easier to change with, for example, a wheel set from your mountain bike.
•Fast on the beach, in the dunes & on gravel!
•The Storm Moana is delivered completely 'beach-ready' with, among other things, special (and extra) grease in the places where it is really needed. So that even after a winter of beach training and beach races the bike can still be taken apart!
•The frame is specially designed for groupsets with 1 front blade.
•As with every bicycle supplied by Beukers Bike Centre, we also ensure that you sit perfectly on your beach bike by means of a good bicycle measurement.
•The bottom bracket has been specially adapted so that the chainline is ideal for the large chainrings used on the beach.

The meaning of Moana: 'Ocean/Deep Sea' in Maori and Hawaiian. And along the coast is exactly where this newest Storm beach addition comes into its own!
